Gabriel is a Nigerian-British poet, actor, facilitator, and creative producer based in London.

As a multi-disciplinary practitioner, Gabriel’s work often leads him beyond poetry and performance; drawing on his background in both theatre and academic Philosophy, his writing currently explores faith, relationships, and his overlapping identities.

He started writing seriously in his teens, becoming one of The Poetry Society's SLAMbassadors youth slam champions in 2011. Since then, he has taken his work to various spaces, collaborating with a range of organisations, including the Rich Mix, Roundhouse and WIRED Next Generation. Previous commissions include the St. Paul’s Cathedral and Royal Academy of Arts, with festival performances ranging from Lovebox to Festivals Kometa in Riga, Latvia. He is published in anthologies including Before Them, We (flipped eye), and has been translated into Arabic for To Sweeten Bitter (British Council Tunisia).

His debut poetry pamphlet, At the Speed of Dark, was published in May 2020 by Bad Betty Press.

He is a proud Barbican Young Poets and National Youth Theatre alumn, and a former Roundhouse Resident Artist.
